Nasiayampapa, Best Hainan Chicken Rice in Town. Now in Indera Mahkota, Kuantan

It's been like months ever since I last translated my blog post to English. Take this post for example, I posted it in April but only now I have the spare time to do the translation. Everyone loves chicken rice, right? I love it, and I know you love it as well.

There's a chicken rice spot that just opened in Indera Mahkota 7 on 15th of April this year. Situated in Suria Atabara, it's open from 10am to 10pm, surely a go to place for those who crave for Hainanese chicken rice.

Besides Indera Mahkota, Nasiayampapa has a main outlet at Beserah, Kuantan which operates from 10am to 5pm. I've never been to the Beserah outlet, but the Indera mahkota outlet is pretty neat and clean. The only drawback is the confined space which makes it really hard to move about when it's full house.

The chicken is prepared in two ways, roasted and steamed. Then you have the option to have it original or 'signature' (RM6 single/RM10 double ala carte), 'percik' (RM7 single/RM11 double ala carte), or 'rendang' (RM7 single/RM11 double ala carte).

I ordered the signature roasted chicken rice with bean sprouts in soy sauce (RM3) as the side dish. For drink, just a bottle of mineral water (RM2) because it's cheaper that way. The dish looked pretty appetizing and presented well. Though, the rice portion was quite small to my liking.

01 The Signature Style Chicken. The signature style chicken is basically chicken with soy sauce. The best thing about the roasted chicken is how the meat is not dry. It's juicy as if it's been steamed or boiled first. It also came with cucumbers, and garnished with fried shallot and scallion. I don't like cucumber, but I love fried shallot and scallion.

02 The Bean Sprouts. If you have a Hainanese chicken rice, it's not complete without a side of bean sprouts in soy sauce, also known as Ipoh bean sprout in some other restaurants. That crunchiness of the bean sprouts is a game changer, it elevates the chicken rice to the next level. If you don't like bean sprouts, you could also opt for a side of bokchoy (RM4) or baby kailan (RM4)

Verdict. Beside the rice portion, I was pretty satisfied. The price of the mineral water in my opinion could be lowered down a bit, though. The soy sauce is sweet and salty to my liking. A pretty good alternative to The Chicken Rice Shop, you could get an almost similar taste profile at a cheaper price here.
